Clan Blackstar

Default History of the Clan in Azeroth

Eana Wingforger was not exactly the pride and joy of her Family. All Wingforger were known Gryphonriders and closely related to the Wildhammer Clan of the Aerie Peak.

She wasn't good with Gryphs. Indeed, she had fallen off one in her training years and the Wildhammer refused her to ever carry the Stormhammers used in battle.
Her Family however wouldn't let her turn into anything else but a Warrioress. They tried her on axes, hammers, staves, even swords for a time.

To little effect.

As news of a plague in the Lands of Lordaeron came, Eana began to have nightmares. She dreamed of a Light, warming, caring, fulfilling, that was shut out from the rest of the world as a dark shadow crept over it. More and more, she could make out something when she tried to face this Light. It seemed like blackness that tried to give off a light. She dubbed the thing in her dreams a black star, not knowing if it had a significance.

The news from the lands of Lordaeron turned more grim by the day, and finally the Wildhammers decided to send out troops, if only to safeguard their borders.

Eana was sent with the foot troops of the dwarves : warriors, paladins and a few clerics.

The Clerics fell first.

One by one they were found dead, their bodies mutilated. The Paladins took over command shortly after this, saying only undead and Lightless creatures would act in such a manner. The Warriors stood guard, Gryphons scanning the air even at night. And yet, somehow more and more died.

When they realized just what happened, and that the dead were only feeding the ennemies armies, they tried to break for home. The Gryphonriders hung back as long as they could, paladins and warriors trying to hold the armies off for one more day as villages were evacuated.

Eana was with a Paladin of her Clan as they were ambushed during the night. Their riders had left to help evacuate a village and they had tried to make a break for the nightfall...
Few survived, and these only thanks for the Light that blessed the one surviving Paladin. Gaerreic Wingforge, an uncle, laid badly wounded, Eana having survived because she was trapped under a fallen warhorse.

They took everyone to an improvised shelter... and as more and more passed away, Eana was left only with a few warriors and their Paladin-Officer. As he began to pass away, he asked her to Pray to the Light. For what, he did not say, so she just prayed.
Full of fear of death. Of fear for her uncle. Her fellow warriors. Her home. The men, women and children they tried to save. She murmured to herself, telling the Light her fears, her sadness, her loneliness.

And it was then, that she suddenly stood and went to heal one after the next, her uncle last. She just suddenly knew she could she would say later, and that the Light had given her what had been robbed from them - Hope.

She returned not a hero.

Not only had her Uncle died still on the trek home, but also had he been her last living relative.

The Mountain home of the Wingforge Clan had been plundered, the bodies never found and possibly used in ways no one wanted to find out about. The Wildhammers took her in for a while, but she knew she would have to forge her own Clan if she wanted to be anything more then a homeless refugee...

Thus was formed Clan Blackstar.

Six years passed.

The Clan prepared, honing their skills in any way possible. Eana's vision became the bitter truth: The dread Dark Portal reopened and only by the combined efforts of Horde and Alliance the inhabitants of Azeroth are able to stem the flow of demons back into their home world.

But her dream did not pass while strike after strike was placed against the Legion.

Returning into reclusiveness, Eanas' nightmares intensified. She watched members of the Clan fight and die on battlefields far from home. So clear was this threat that even others in the Clan started to share her nightmares. The Light was darkening, eclipsed by a danger that had been nearly forgotten.

She spoke of this to her Clan and in doing so fanned their eagerness to be prepared.
The Clan Blackstar will continue to train.
Continue to prepare.
Continue to stride against all who would threaten their home.
