Default The way things are

The Death Knight Nights seems to have given way to Clan Night during the last couple of weeks. Thinking we would be able to do both was perhaps a bit much to hope for.

The last installment of Clan Night saw a group of Blackstar sweep across Northrend, dealing with a number of evils to finally emerge victorious from the Amphitheatre of Anguish in Zul'Drak. Read more about it here.

A few more Clan Nights are upcoming in the next couple of weeks, and hopefully another Death Knight Night.

Default A time of waiting

The Blackstar Death Knights have once again been called upon to restore the time line. This time we also got a helping hand form our battle mage Hartonia. It seems Thrall had been captured once again. Needless to say, in short order we set him free again. That wasn't the only thing awry with the time line this time however. We also had to step in to help keep a few distracting dragons away from Medivh so he could open the dark portal. After fending of the dragons, the dark portal was opened on schedule. History was once again just that, history. For the full story, check out Gambar's summary.

The planning for the other upcoming events are in progress. Hopefully it'll boost activity in the guild soon. Take the opportunity to sign up for the different activities in the Guild Acceptance and Promotions Hall, and make your voice heard, so we can make the best of it.

Default A time of change

Four brave souls gathered on friday night by the moon well in the Twilight Grove in Duskwood for a long overdue clan meeting. We all thought it was about time to breath some life back into our clan again.

Recruiting has been put on top priority. We'll still stick to our old recruiting and candidate system. Once we have a new recruitment text, Gambar and Czar will be but in charge of recruiting, if they're willing.

It's been quite a while since our last news update. This is about to change. We're aiming at getting news updates out about once a week, so stay tuned.

Our DK nights have proven to be very popular, so we've decided to also add a "Clan Night". Each week we'll help one person achieve his goals. Maybe you're up next.

We will also be going on bi-weekly gathering expeditions. If you need anything to level your trade skills, let us know, and well put it on the list of stuff to gather.

Another new event coming soon is PvP night. Weither you're into PvP or not, it'll be lots of fun.

Last on the list of new happenings in the clan is the monthly event. Each month, a clan member will organize some sort of event for the whole clan. It could be anything from a point to point race or fishing contest to Ogre Annihilation or Ogrimmar Take-Over. Stay tuned to find out what crazy stuff someone will come up with this month.

Last but not least, Hartonia and Jilliusthorn have been promoted to clansmen. Congratulations!

Default Don't worry: we're still here

It's been awfully quiet on this here page but let us assure you: Clan Blackstar is still alive. Indeed, several members have returned to active duty once more in the past few weeks. Of course, others have taken some time off, so I guess that evens out

Yesterday evening a Guild Meeting was held in the familiar Brightwood Grove. Press Officer Knix has posted the minutes of the meeting already. We urge everyone to read those, as several important topics were discussed, including but not limited to:
  • 25-man raiding by its members and how B* should handle this;
  • Housing in Azeroth;
  • Summer cleaning of our guild bank -- we need more bagspace so grab stuff and don't feel guilty about it. Requests can be posted in the same place as ever;
  • A small delegation of the Clan will visit Warhammer Online's Old World! If you're a member, check out this thread and sign up ASAP;
  • Promotions to Clansman for the following: Maragandir, Mereneth, Shabell, Bhaaltazzar and Czar.
    Congratulations!
The Officers have also taken the liberty to clean up the roster a bit and removed some long-inactive Members. Remember, if you want to get back into the Clan after such a removal, all you need to do is ask -- here on the forums, or on-line.

Last time we posted here, we were celebrating the Lunar Festival. This time, the Fire Festival is upon us. Be sure to do some of the new quests, dance around a ribbon pole or two, and slay Lord Ahune!

The clans adventures in Karazhan continues. Prince Malchezaar has finally payed for his poor reception of guests at the hand of the clan. We also had a run-in with Netherspite, but didn't have the time to deal with him properly. Read more about it here here.

The time of the Lunar Festival is upon us. Perhaps the time has come for the clan to vanquish the demigod Omen. Anyway, enjoy these festive times.

We have also had another batch of candidates, and the activity in the clan seems to be rising. The use of the Looking for Group Looking for Group forum seems to remain quite inactive however. Take the opportunity to use it to give a little more order to the increasing activity.

The first guild meeting of the year is approaching. Check out the poll.

Default Karazhan explored! Winter Veil is drawing near!

The clan's last adventures into Karazhan lead us all the way from the entrance to the very top of the tower. Many a foes were defeated, and though we have now seen all that Karazhan has to offer, we have yet to vanquish Netherspite, Prince Malchezaar and Nightbane. Read more about it here.

Winter Veil is approaching rapidly. I wonder what Greatfather Winter has in store for us this year. It's a time of year may spend with their friends and family. It also may give people the chance to play on hour they normally can't play, so take the opportunity to use our Looking for Group Forum if you want to do something special in these hectic times.

The BID runs has netted us enough gold for four Guild Vault tabs so far. Keep up the good work, and we'll have yet another tab in no time. And don't forget, the BID runs are fun too!

Also, take the opportunity to share you goals and accomplishments in the Goals for Glory thread.
Learn and share PvP experiences on the Character and Tactics Advice forum in the thread [PvP] Glory&Honor.

Last week a group of courageous Blackstars ventured into the troll stronghold of Zul'Aman. They met
with stiff resistance but finally made it to the first boss. He was a hard nut to crack however, and
it was finally decided to let him live for now. Instead, Attumen and Midnight had a stroke of bad
luck and attracted the attention of the Blackstars. Suffice it to say, they didn't live long. Read
more about it here.

We have another batch of new candidates. If you haven't already, give them a warm and sticky
welcome: Saldana, Sanctii and Nalsean!

Default Trustwaddle joins the 70's circle and drama in Karazhan.

One of our newest clansmen, Trustwaddle, just got his paladin Trake to level 70, and thereby got his first key to the 70's circle. Congratulations Trustwaddle, and welcome.

The past weeks autumn cleaning in Karazhan got us as far as the Chess Event. Read all (or atleast some) about it here

It's amazing but true. Snow just got his fourth character into the 70s Circle Snowdog, his Kaldorei Hunter dinged last night in the cheery surroundings of Shadowmoon Valley.

Edit: Management has just been informed that Gambar, the fearless warrior, got his Key To The 70s soon after Snow. Whee!

Congratulations!

Default I knew I forgot somebody

Sure enough, I forgot somebody. Xelphina's Elara got the key to the 70s Circle the very night the previous update was posted. Congratulations Xel, that's your third Key To The 70s and B*'s second Warrior.

Default Dings?

I've been negligent on the updates for a while. Here's an effort to remedy that:

Clan Blackstar is trudging along in Karazhan, with a first kill on the Maiden of Virtue and a first kill of the Big Bad Wolf. We tried the Curator but were NOT PREPARED.
Venne is working on a full write-up of Karazhan tactics while Knix is summarizing that.
With all the Karazhan stuff going on, there's a very good discussion on how B* should handle such a thing. Please speak your mind.

Also, several characters have gained access to the 70s Circle. Grudgebearer (Silv's third 70) and Eavangelina (Eava's second 70) recently got their final ding. Well, final for now until Wrath of the Lich King raises the cap again.
I'm probably forgetting people's dings here -- my apologies for that.

Glory!

Default Application stop & Lorzon joins the Clan

Yes, in that order. However, Lorzon's application got to us before we put the application stop into effect.

Only yesterday evening we could actually reach Lorzon in Azeroth. He's a handsome Night Elf Druid, currently stretching his paws in Teldrassil. Sure enough, he joined the Clan as a Candidate. Give him a warm welcome!

Default Raiver joins the Clan

Raiver, a human guy, joined the guild yesterday as a Candidate. He's a warlock or mage -- he seems a bit uncertain about it himself -- not unlike a certain Fribble I've known. Ah well, his dedication (all together now) to the Clan will be put to the test in the coming weeks.

Give him a warm welcome!

Last night, another Clan Meeting was conducted in the Twilight Grove. Eavangelina has just posted the summary of what's been discussed. Be sure to read it.

Also, Mims joined the Clan as a Candidate. She is a female gnome warlock and in need of a warm welcome!

Default Karazhan, take 1

After some startup troubles, an invitation to Mooste, and the addition of Krogzar, Clan Blackstar had a group of 10 heroes together. These brave souls entered the dread tower of Karazhan in the Deadwind Pass, once home of Medivh. Armed to the teeth and all keeping a hard-fought copy of The Master's Key, they explored the spacious halls.
The results where encouraging. Of course, there were some temporary deaths while adjusting to the place. This isn't your typical UBRS, no sir! Under the leadership of Venne, Attumen and his Binky were slain at first encounter. Moroes, the Tower Steward, didn't fall but then again, he fell on the second try. Needing some entertainment the group went to the Opera, where a production of Romulo & Julianne was playing. Somehow the group wound up on-stage killing the lead actors. Ouch. So much for art appreciation. After that the group filed towards the Maiden of Virtue, but never arrived. Focus was lost after that dreadful opera...

Thanks all who attended, great run!

Addendum: Rexine has posted an overview of the run.

Default Trustwaddle joins the Clan

Two days, two recruits -- we at Officer Central can be a bit busy sometimes Trustwaddle, a gnome mage of a 24 springs, joined the Clan yesterday. Last seen mucking about in the Wetlands (muck is pretty much on par there), his *takes a deep breath* dedication to the Clan will be put to the test in the coming weeks.

Give him a warm welcome!

Medlynia joined the Clan as a Candidate yesterday evening. She's a raiding feral druid of the tankish persuasion. She was worried if she'd bring enough to the Clan, but we were quite certain after a brief chat. Her dedication to the Clan will still be put to the test in the coming weeks, of course.

Please give her a warm welcome!
